Volunteer Opportunity Descriptions
Volunteer Application
Discovery Center has implemented some great fun and interactive training for staff and volunteers. As part of a new professional development program at Discovery Center, Portal to the Public (POP) uses tools and techniques to enhance science discovery.
Discovery Center staff quickly realized these skills help us to meet our mission of inspiring life-long learning and have integrated these tools into our staff and volunteer training to improve our visitors' experiences.
If you have not been through this training in the past year or would like a refresher, we encourage you sign up for one of the next two training sessions -- either Wednesday, September 15th or Thursday September 16th 4-7pm. Send Kim Collison an e-mail or call her kcollison@discoverycenter.org or call her at 862-9910 Ext. 709.
Looking for youth age 14-18 interested in interacting
with people, being part of a team, helping visitors
experience Discovery Center during the summer. If you
are age 14-18 or know of youth this age that are excited
about science, fun and learning encourage them to
volunteer at Discovery Center of Springfield. Fill out
the volunteer application and fax to Kim Collison at
417-862-6898. She will follow-up with a phone call or
e-mail to verify that you are able to come to this fun
filled morning. Can't wait to meet you.
