Family Learning Days
New for 2008-“Fall” into Science Family Learning Days, designed for homeschool families: adventures in science learning for the whole family!

- Opportunities to explore the museum together
- Enrichment experiences available
Dates/themes:
Aug 28: It’s Alive! Focus on biology, life sciences
Sept. 24: Invention Convention Focus on engineering, inquiry
Oct. 23: What’s Out There? Focus on astronomy, solar system, space travel
Nov. 21: Over, Under, Around the Earth Focus on atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere—also coordinates with geography awareness month
Cost:
Members - Choose your learning plan:
- Use your membership—you get access to all regular museum exhibits, plus a BrainByte (10:30 and 2:30).
- Enhance your basic Family Learning Day by adding the following optional activities:
- $4 per person will give your family access to an area of the museum that will be available from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with special learning station activities. In addition, you will receive a special internet code to access additional learning materials/resources/ideas online, plus a specially developed scavenger hunt to do during your family’s museum exploration time
- Classes—available at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., limited to 30 participants per class.
- 30 minute class, for ages pre-k-age 8—children must attend with a parent. Cost is $3 per person—children under 3 are free.
- 60 minute class, for ages 9 and up. Parent of children ages 9 and up are not required to attend, but are certainly welcome! Children under age 9 may attend with a parent. Cost-$6 per person.
Non members - Pay regular admission and then choose from the same optional activities and costs as above.
