Parent/Child Duo Workshop-Going Viral

Join Miss Anna to learn about various viruses and bacteria in our Going Viral workshop. Discover the viral world and see what grows and multiplies on an underneath our everyday surfaces. Participants will take home some snotty science concoctions.

"Elf the Musical" Winter Wonderland Workshop
Saturday, November 26th
10:00am-11:30am and 1:00-2:30pm
$10 per child
Join DCS for a special holiday workshop in partnership with Celebrity Attractions, Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, and Elf the Musical! Create a winter wonderland diorama, learn the science behind snow and ice, and kick off the holiday season with special prize opportunities from Elf the Musical.
Limit 20 children per session. DCS will supply basic crafting supplies, but children are welcome to bring any additional crafting supplies and any items to add to their dioramas.

Members Only: Christmas Around the World
Saturday, December 10th
Join DCS to learn about how other countries celebrate Christmas, decorate a paper ornament to take home, and enjoy hot chocolate and the Christmas parade from the best view in town.

This month's theme is Astronomy Sprouts. Science Sprouts is play time for the brain that's aligned with Missouri Early Learning Standards, promoting scientific development and a love for solving problems.

Learn cool facts about the planets as we build a revolving model of our solar system. Participants will assemble and paint this robotic model. And of course, it's solar powered just like the solar system!

Noon Year's Eve

Celebrate with the Discovery Center as we ring in the new year! We are moving into the new year with activities featuring the science of motion. Get creative with a steampunk maker space, write your own Sci-Fi adventure, or gear-up for our engineering races. We'll countdown to noon and celebrate with a balloon drop.
November's lab theme is Body Systems.
December's lab theme is Rockets & Radioactivity.
The Exploratory Lab is located on the 2nd floor of the east building in the Phenomena Gallery.
