Troop Trip - Both Boys and Girls!

Learn about ways to protect the environment and explore the Discovery Center at the same time! Schedule a “troop trip” that includes our Environmental Pathway! This self-guided scavenger hunt leads participants to some of the many features of our LEED Gold Certified green building. From deciding between choices for packing zero-waste lunch to exploring energy use of different types of lighting, your scouts will discover a number of environmental concepts and be able to consider how to do some of the same things in their own homes! To schedule a trip, contact the Education Department, at least 14 days prior to trip date, by phone @ 417-862-9910 ext. 726 or by email @

Groups of 12 or more paid admissions qualify for our group rate of $6.00 per person if reserved 14 days in advance. Groups must have a ratio of 1 adult per 5 scouts. Request the Environmental Pathway Scavenger Hunt (best suited for scouts ages 8 and above) at the time of your reservation and we’ll have copies ready for you when you check in! Or you can bring your troop for a day of scientific exploration! With over 200 exhibits and 50,000 square feet to explore, you’re guaranteed to have a day filled with learning AND fun! To schedule a trip, contact contact the Education Department, at least 14 days prior to trip date, by phone at 417-862-9910 ext. 726 or by email at
