Cub Scout Night at the Museum

Saturday, January 26, 2013 - 6:30-9:00pm
Activity stations available to support a variety of achievements and badge requirements. No pre-registration required for Cub Scout Night at the Museum! Non member: Scouts $12, Adults $7; Member: Scouts $7, Member Adults Free. Additional non-scout children will be charged general admission of $8.00.

Girl Scouts-Night at the Museum

March 1, 2013-March 2, 2013
Explore the museum and special activity stations, watch a movie, then spend the night in the museum! Pre-registration required through Girl Scouts of Missouri Heartland.

Troop Trip - Both Boys and Girls!

Learn about ways to protect the environment and explore the Discovery Center at the same time!  Schedule a “troop trip” that includes our Environmental Pathway!  This self-guided scavenger hunt points participants to some of the many features of our LEED Gold Certified green building.  From deciding between choices for packing zero-waste lunch, to exploring energy use of different types of lighting, your scouts will discover a number of environmental concepts, and be able to consider how to do some of the same things in their own homes!  To schedule a trip, contact Hayley Budd, Program Facilitator, at least 7 days prior to trip date or 417-862-9910x726.

Groups of 12 or more paying participants who schedule in advance receive our group rate of $6 per person.  Groups must have a ratio of 1 adult per 5 scouts.  Request the Environmental Pathway Scavenger Hunt at the time of your reservation and we’ll have copies ready for you when you check in!  (Best suited for scouts ages 8 and above.)  Or, just bring your troop for a day of scientific exploration!  With over 200 exhibits and 50,000 square feet to explore, you’re guaranteed to have a day filled with learning AND fun!  Follow the same procedures as above for scheduling a troop trip!

The museum is also a perfect venue for a scouting outing!  Bring a scout group on a field trip to explore the museum at your own pace!  Groups of 12 or more paid admissions qualify for our group rate of $6 per person if reserved 7 days in advance or $7 per person walk up registration for groups of 12 or more.  To reserve a group visit to DCS, contact Hayley Budd, Program Facilitator, at 417-862-9910x726.
