Robot Workshops & Summer Workshops

Robot Workshops

Robot Workshops continue to be a great learning adventure for both parents and children. Both parent and child will work closely with Discovery Center staff to build a functional Robot. Learn about following directions, gears, circuits, and other mechanical parts. Each workshop will focus on a different type of robot and different age level. These are very popular classes and usually fill fast.

Summer Workshops

Summer time...freedom from homework, reading assignments, spelling lists, adding, subtracting, a perfect time for brain drain to occur!  But what if summer was a time to investigate the inner workings of a robot, or to discover the principles of flight and experiment with why some things fly and others don't.  What if summer was filled with opportunities to explore microscopic life forms, learn about blown glass, discover the world under our feet.  What if your child's summer was filled with unique hands-on interactive learning experiences?  It is possible - just by enrolling in Discovery Center Summer Workshops.  Children will be immersed daily in opportunities designed and developed by DCS education staff.  Class information will be available the week of March 19, 2012 and DCS members will be allowed to register first.  Public registration will be begin April 9, 2012.

Some workshops can be messy, so please dress your child (and yourself) appropriately!  Please make other arrangements for siblings not registered in the workshop.
