Robot Workshops

Robot Workshops continue to be a great learning adventure for both parents and children. Both parent and child will work closely with Discovery Center staff to build a functional Robot. Learn about following directions, gears, circuits, and other mechanical parts. Each workshop will focus on a different type of robot and different age level. New this year we are offering both a morning session from 10am-12pm or an afternoon session from 1-3pm.

Dissection Workshop

Designed for parent and child (ages 7 and up) to attend together as a learning team! A Discovery Center Educator will guide participants in learning about animal classification, identifying features of specific specimens, and a guided dissection experience.  Come join us for one of these unique learning adventures! New this year a morning 10am-12pm session or afternoon 1-3pm session.

Dr. Frankenstein's ToyBox Workshop

Have you ever seen a stuffed animal made of mismatched parts? Of course not!  But Dr. Frankenstein's Toybox workshop will give you the chance to create a stuffed animal that is new, unique, and never been seen before!  Come learn how to disassemble and reassemble a stuffed creature - and walk away from this workshop with a unique, one-of-a kind creation that would surely make Dr. Frankenstein proud!  Staff from Squid Foo Gallery will guide participants in learning how to make these creatures! This workshop is best suited to children ages 6 and up, plus an accompanying adult.

  • Saturday October 19, 2013 - 10am-12pm or 1-3pm (age 6+) material cost $10
