Volunteer
Opportunities
The
Partner Program at the Discovery Center offers a unique opportunity
to participate in and support the Museum's creative and educational
exhibits and programs. Many of our volunteer opportunities are for
one-time events, while others require ongoing commitment. The Museum's
partner program has the flexibility to match its needs with your
schedule, skills, and interests.
Our
Partner Opportunities include
- Exhibit
Facilitator: Encourage visitors to explore and discover. Ask and
answer questions and become involved in interacting with all exhibit
components.
- Office
Assistant: Assist with "behind the scenes" work by providing
your expertise and skills in many administrative areas.
- Exhibits/Building
Maintenance: Lend a hand by performing general maintenance on
the building or exhibits.
- Special
Events: DCS hosts many fund raisers and other special events
throughout
the year. Volunteers help staff with planning, preparation, and
overall visitor fun on the big day.
- Community
Outreach - DCS is involved in many community events. Join us as
we take our hands-on approach to learning on the road.
- Group
Involvement - DCS occasionally plans work days for groups of people
who are interested in helping out. Contact us to be put on the
list for recycling delivery, traveling exhibit set up, landscaping,
and more.
- Dynamic
Duo/Franklin Cart Demos - Spend time volunteering as a family!
Kids 8–14 can volunteer with their parents as museum docents
or can participate in the state-of-the-art Franklin Cart science
demonstrations.
