In addition to the auditorium, the second floor houses the Phenomena Gallery and Gallery A!
Phenomena Gallery
Many visitors say, “This is my favorite part!” One of the big draws of the Phenomena Gallery is the Van de Graff Generator. Make sure you get to this exhibit during the following times to get those great photos of your hair going crazy from electricity!
The Van de Graff Generator Schedule
10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The turntable is a favore and no kid can resist the angular momentum machine. For an electrifying visit, make sure to ask a DCS team member about the Tesla Coil. Don’t forget to visit the air cannon, anti-gravity mirror, echo tube and shadow room.
Exploratory Lab
Exploratory Lab is located on 2nd floor of the east building in the Phenomena Gallery. This lab contains new hands on activities for learners of all ages every month. See the visitor guide for current monthly theme.
Keep an eye out for our traveling scientist!
DCS staff will be out periodically performing short, live, interactive demonstrations or activities. Enjoy watching, listening, participating and asking questions all while learning and having fun.
